About Unplugged
Unplugged, Inc. was founded in Berkeley, California in 2002. Unplugged licenses to and distributes applications through mobile operators. With our focus on simple, reliable solutions, we help carriers quickly and easily generate returns on their mobile data investment. We do this by publishing content that subscribers will pay for, and by licensing the infrastructure tools and services to exploit that usage.
As part of our publishing strategy, Unplugged acquired the intellectual property of Unplugged Games, North America's dominant wireless games publisher. In only six months, Unplugged has signed distribution licenses for 4 of the top 5 North American carriers, and one of the top European carriers. Our distribution network has continued to grow and now includes several Latin American Carriers. This extremely rapid growth is possible due to the Unplugged design team's unique expertise and focus on highly persistent, interactive entertainment--what we call compelling content.
Unplugged licenses the tools and services needed to maximize the revenue from compelling content, starting with Unplugged Billing. Unplugged Billing is an open standards-based data billing solution that plugs into today's mobile billing servers. We make it simple for carriers to charge for third party data, or bill on behalf of others, using subscription and/or pay per event pricing models.
